Hello Parents and Students,
Last week we completed our Readers' Theaters. The students did a great job getting into their roles! This week coming up, we will be getting into Greek Mythology. Students will be learning about Greek Allusions and the different Greek gods and goddesses. This is not only a fun unit to teach, but it is a fun one to learn! In writing, we will be learning about opinion writing and students will be setting personal writing goals. Conferences went very well. It was a pleasure to see/meet each and everyone of you. Remember if you ever need to contact me, I am available through email, phone, and agenda. Thank you to everyone that has given to our classroom!! With that said, we do need some sandwich baggies. For some reason I have a ton of gallon sized bags, but not anything any smaller. :) Again, thank you for a great first 9-weeks at Sweet Apple. I can't wait for the next 9-weeks. Have a great week, Kara Adams Dear Parents and Students,
I hope everyone is looking forward to the long weekend. My engagement party is this Saturday, so I am pretty excited. Next week we will be working on our readers' theaters. Students can bring in props, costumes, and anything else they think they will need next week. We will be preforming our readers' theaters on Friday of next week. Thursday, students will be taking the STAR reading assessment. We will continue working on our letters to the soldiers. Even though it is a short week, everyday counts! I hope everyone has a great long weekend!! Look at the homework section! Thank you, Kara Adams Hello Parents and Students,
Hope everyone had a great weekend. I got some wedding planning accomplished, so I am a happy bride-to-be! :) Last week the students completed their "Theme-in-a-Bottle" project where the students wrote a letter about their theme in their book. Students also created a bottle that had elements of their theme incorporated on it. They turned out so well. I will send them home this week. This week coming up, students are learning about Drama and Prose. Students will start a Reader's Theater. We will also work on writing letters to the troops for Bert Show's Big Thank You letter writing campaign. This week students will take a pilot writing assessment for the county. It is an assessment that is going to look very similar to the Georgia Milestone assessment the students will take in the Spring. Reminders: We have conferences continued this week. I look forward to seeing each and everyone of you. There are some applications that Mrs. Whelan would like the students to add to their devices. They are: Follett Brytewave K-12 Edition and MackinVIA. Don't forget to check and sign your child's agenda every night. I hope everyone has a great week! Ms. Kara Adams |
